The Polar Bear Chair

None of Sid Boyum's sculpture is so loved as the Polar Bear Chair. Here (left) it is shown on the evening it was brought to Circle Park, before it was placed on the permanent foundation and restored. The Circle Park neighborhood welcomed the Bear enthusiastically with potluck celebration complete with Bear songs, poetry and mounds of ice. Click for a video clip of the welcoming celebration.

 

Lots of food...	...poetry and songs...	...and ice in Summer.
