Urban Half-block
Madison, Wisconsin
This project brought four buildings back into active use. The historically sensitive facade reconstruction of half of a block over the span of several years in an historic neighborhood also included upgrading to the interiors and rear parking lot.

Above Left: The facade at left was completely removed and reconstructed using old photos as a guide.
Above Right: The one-story "connector" building (above) was a recent addition, which received a compatible (but deliberately not "historic") architectural treatment.
Above: This composite picture of the block was taken before reconstruction.
Award: Historic Preservation Award from the Madison Landmarks Commission/Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission, 1983.
