Wil-Mar Community Center
This former chuch building-turned-community center for the Williamson-Marquette neighborhood was Design Coalition's very first project in 1972. In 1996 it was refurbished again with accessibility and energy-efficiency improvements. A three-stop wheelchair lift and an interior ramp were installed to provide an accessible path throughout the building. Toilet rooms were redesigned to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The office area was remodeled, the main hall floor refinished, and the kitchen completely remodeled. Windows were replaced with insulated glass units that recall the originals.
